Consultants Who Came From Operating Roles

Our advisory team ran IT before they advised on it. That shapes what gets recommended: roadmaps sequenced against real budget cycles, the team you actually have, and the vendor contract that runs until 2028.

Capabilities

What We Advise On

Six capability areas. Most engagements combine three or four.

IT Strategy & Roadmaps

/ 01
Sequenced to the budget

A roadmap that ignores the fiscal calendar is a wish list. We sequence against what can be funded and when.

Compliance Advisory

/ 02
Ahead of the assessment

Gap assessment, remediation sequencing, and a direct view on what closes this year and what realistically waits.

Vision 2030 Alignment

/ 03
Mandate into plan

Government digitization targets and cloud adoption requirements translated into an IT plan that satisfies the mandate and your operating constraints together.

IT Governance & Risk

/ 04
Structure that outlasts its authors

Policy, risk registers, and decision rights that keep functioning after the people who established them move on.

Vendor & Contract Advisory

/ 05
Requirements-led

ITBuilders holds no exclusive vendor agreements. Selection runs against your requirements and the reasoning is documented for your review.

Transformation Programme Support

/ 06
Through execution

Most roadmaps fail during delivery, not design. We stay engaged through the programme rather than closing at handover of the deck.

Delivery Model

Five Phases, and What You Get From Each

Each phase closes with a deliverable you own.

01
Week 1–2

Discover

Interviews, current-state assessment, and the unwritten constraints: contracts, legacy dependencies, and internal history that shapes what is possible.

You get: current-state assessment and constraint register
02
Week 2–4

Assess

Gap analysis against your target, whether that target is a framework, a mandate, or a business objective.

You get: gap analysis with prioritized findings
03
Week 4–6

Design

Target architecture and roadmap, sequenced against budget cycles and real dependencies.

You get: roadmap with cost, sequence, and business case
04
Ongoing

Support

Governance forums, milestone reviews, and course correction where delivery diverges from plan.

You get: programme governance and progress reporting
05
Close

Handover

Your team owns the roadmap and the governance structure.

You get: documented governance model and trained owners
Frameworks

The Frameworks We Work Against

This page has no vendor band by design — vendor independence is the argument.

Case Pattern

What This Looks Like in Practice

Illustrative Pattern — Not a Client Engagement

Insurance Company, Riyadh

The Problem

SAMA CSF findings from a prior audit still open, competing remediation quotes, no sequencing logic.

The Approach

Gap assessment scoped to the actual findings rather than the full framework. Roadmap sequenced by audit risk against budget availability. Two vendor recommendations revised after requirements review.

The Outcome

Findings closed in priority order across two fiscal years, with a board reporting structure that survived a CIO transition.

This is a representative pattern showing how the delivery model works, not a specific client engagement. Real anonymized case studies are available under NDA after a scoping conversation.

FAQ

Questions We Get Asked

What background do ITBuilders consultants have?

Operating roles. They have carried responsibility for the systems they now advise on.

Do you recommend ITBuilders' own services?

Sometimes, and we disclose the interest when we do. We also recommend vendors and providers outside our catalog where the requirement points there.

How long is a typical engagement?

Discovery through roadmap runs roughly six weeks. Programme support runs for the duration of the programme.

Can you prepare us for an NCA ECC audit?

Yes: gap assessment, remediation sequencing, evidence packaging, and support through the assessment.

Do you deliver the implementation as well?

We can, and it is a separate decision. Roadmap ownership transfers to you at handover either way.

Start With an Honest Current State

Book a strategy session. We will assess where you are, what the constraints actually permit, and what a fundable roadmap looks like.
